- Description: Dried a large load of towels and when I opened the dryer door after the cycle concluded, I was hit with a burning smell. My wife and I vacuumed out the drum with a flexible tool we purchased (we regularly clean the lint trap after every load), and also cleaned out the dryer vent and the exhaust tube that leads from dryer, under the kitchen, and to the backyard. Ran it one more time with one damp towel and still noticed the smell, though it was less intense than it was after we dried the large load of 8-10 towels.
