- Description: Ice maker has not been working in our Whirlpool Gold side-by-side refrigerator, purchased in 2010 from Sears. Also, we got the water filter in incorrectly when replacing it this last time, otherwise, the refrigerator and freezer have been working fine. We want to know if replaceing the ice maker and getting the needed replacement for the water filter would allow us to use the refrigerator for several more years before need of replacement.
