- Description: I own a Whirlpool double-door refrigerator with a bottom freezer drawer and built-in ice maker. A thick sheet of ice continues to form at the bottom of the freezer compartment, which prevents the drawer from closing completely. This occasionally causes the freezer to remain ajar, resulting in thawing of frozen items. In addition, the ice maker has stopped producing ice altogether.
