- Description: I loaded the dryer and started it. The moment it would have started rotating, instead I heard a buzz that sounded like a rotating piece of metal grinding against another piece of metal. The sound trailed off over about a second as if the rotating metal piece was slowing down. There was no barrel rotation. I stopped the dryer to investigate but the barrel turned when rotated by hand, there was no weird smell. The electronics panel never behaved weird and still responds. I tried to restart the dryer but it makes nearly no sound when starting. When holding down the start button, you can hear a relay inside the dryer flip when the dryer starts but there's no barrel rotation or motor sound. We decided to turn the dryer off and seek help rather than leave it on and hope for the best.
