- Description: Samsung: Main fridge section not cooling. Touch pad controls not working. Automatic defrosting not working. Freezer section wasn't getting cold enough to make ice or keep ice cream from melting. Ice/frost seems to have built up behind the walls of the freezer (I totally defrosted, leaving refrigerator unplugged for 48 hours—the freezer now works but it is stuck on "power freeze' mode. When the main fridge section was minimally working, water would accumulate under the crisper bins, and then flood out onto my kitchen floor. The refrigerator has been problematic almost from the beginning (it's around 6 or 7 years old)—is it worth trying to fix or should I just buy a new (different brand!) refrigerator?
