- Description: We have a Whirlpool refrigerator (model WRF736SDAM14) with a cooling issue: the upper refrigerator compartment is not cooling properly, while the bottom freezer is still keeping items mostly frozen. A previous technician informed us that the defrost switch might need replacement due to ice buildup on the coils. However, when we tried to locate the part ourselves to expedite the repair, we discovered that this model doesn’t appear to use a traditional defrost switch. It seems the defrost function is managed electronically. Richard Gonzalez was scheduled to visit on September 22, but we had to cancel unexpectedly. We’d like to reschedule to get the best possible diagnosis to fix our refrigerator as soon as possible
