- Description: Our dryer used to take a long time and extend the amount of time it said it would take initially. So we'd set it to auto and it would say 45 minutes. We'd come back in 45 minutes, and it would say 30 minutes on it still... I would check to see if the laundry was dry yet, and it wouldn't be, so I'd have to let it continue it's cycle for an unknown length of time. Just yesterday, we were running a load through our dryer and it wasn't drying whatsoever. It would extend the time repeatedly, for an endless amount of time. We noticed that the dryer was not getting hot, so we think that is the reason.
