- Description: WRS588FIHB00 ice maker suddenly stopped making ice cubes. Whirlpool recommended Total Appl Solutions. They immediately saw cut wires in bottom of freezer door. I asked my handyman to clip wires together. Ice maker started working again! But stopped again in 2-3 days. On testing, code 44 keeps returning (2 3) and code 45 stays stuck in (0 1) - it’s supposed to be able to be changed to 3 which is a water fill)… Anyway, refrigerator works fine, just ice maker not working. For now, I’m just making ice cubes old fashioned way and filling the bucket. Would be nice to automate it…
